Social Networking Sites

A profile page on one of these sites does give you a presence and may position you as a cutting edge company, but if content and friends lists are not maintained you may defeat the purpose. Basically, info on these sites requires ongoing maintenance. Right now, we are not recommending them as an effective recruiting tool - especially if budgets are tight. On the main sites, like Facebook and MySpace, the job boards are still in their infancy stages.

Many industry specific social networking sites have recently launched. Job boards are included with some - but are not a major focus of their online community. We will keep an eye on this trend and advise you when to jump on board!
